What are Your Customers Looking for?
It’s an interesting discussion, each time I have it when discussing what is required on a website. Often we find a real conflict in what the client wants to see versus what we recommend is required.
The look, feel and navigation really need to be reviewed, it’s critical in keeping your customers’ interest. Having search capabilities on your site is an important aspect for larger sites. Your pages should be easy to print on paper or as a pdf. Yet, as your digital agency, we want to ensure we assist you in having your website deliver the basics.
Here is a list of a few things that most of your customers will be looking for:
- Contact info – name, physical address and phone number
- Other company info – business, management team
- News – press releases
- Blog – current issues
- Employment opportunities – job postings
- Shop – ecommerce
- Product info – help, FAQ, specifications
- Samples of other work – and or customer listings
Last but not least, simple navigation, as such a Home Button, it’s a must to be able to get back to the beginning as often people get off track during a web visit. We urge all our customers to remember the website is not all about you, it’s all about your customers, and knowing what your customers looking for.
Customers are looking for the basics, easy navigation, and simple processes to get to the facts. These are must haves, simple, boring but necessary. Don’t build your website without them, give them what they want.
