Why Run a Contest, here are the Contest FIVE

An interesting article written by Ben Pickering at Mashable provided some interesting insight regarding Contest Marketing. Why run a contest you might ask?

Contests should be part of your marketing strategy and we agree with Ben when he writes “Contests are certainly not the answer to every marketing challenge, but they should be part of every social media marketer’s toolkit.” Here are the four reasons that are provided:

Contests are great tools for building your fan base.
Contests enable you to engage your audience.
Contests are a rich source of data.
Contests empower consumers to do your marketing for you.

Yet we think there are at least FIVE specific deliverables (or FIVE MORE), so here you go.

Contests allow you to gather email addresses.
Contests allow you to gather specific data regarding your product.
Contests engage and develop all social followings (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest etc).
Contests leave your prospects and clients with a favourable impression and build awareness.
Contests are fun for prospects, clients and staff, team building.

It’s seems we’ve left you with the Contest Four or Contest FIVE or the Contest Four plus Five. Contests are a significant part of your marketing strategy and if they aren’t, they should be.
