Contests & Sweepstakes Create Content:
Online contests, sweepstakes, and user-generated content go hand in hand. Running an online contest, including a picture or video submission for example, can have a huge effect on how many people enter and promote your contest. Creating a contest, combined with funny, exciting or thought-provoking entry process, is a great way to encourage entries and entice people to share.
Consider Super Bowl 2013… Doritos created a contest that was almost unheard of in scope. Their contest, “Crash the Super Bowl,” asked their customers to produce an ad-spot to be displayed during the Super Bowl. The huge part? The contest was open to 46 countries! Considering how easy it is to Run Afoul of the Law, this was a huge undertaking! This promotion combined user-generated content with a voting aspect to maximize potential entries. The campaign broke records and came close to 100 million views spread over the finalist videos.
We at TACTIX5 are experts at contests, sweepstakes and promotions. If you want to run a contest that maximizes exposure and brand awareness, consider running one that incorporates user-generated content and voting into the mix. The results can be huge, and can generate lots of traffic to your site or social media.
